Magical colourful dead things are afoot as the world of 'Dias de los Muertos' comes to life in the Rambunctious studio, outside as day turns into night the creatively curious dead push their faces to the panes and look excitely in, they know they are coming to the ball, are you?
As well as throwing myself into a making frenzy, I have enlisted the help of other passionate artists and friends to contribute to the night. Below you will see the makings of a fantastic 'Santa Muertos', made in conjunction with two artists and the Sealhayne students, look out for it on the night!
We have two sound artists who will be helping you explore the space in whole new different way on the night, plus the creation of a massive Day of the Dead cake!

We have a wonderful gargantuan Mexican Ball cake in the mix by the talented cake maker Lisa Beale, plus an award winning Day of the dead cocktail 'Dias de los Muertos' will be avialable to refresh your deathly lips....
The Day of the Dead Cake is the latest creative culinary experience from the Buckfastleigh based “Cake Creations”. This local company is rapidly growing in reputation for their unique and stylish cake designs. Tasting as good as they look their approach to cakes is to build them bigger, better and tastier than anything done before. Lisa and her team are aiming to make their Day of the Dead cake one of the biggest and best creations they have made.

LA SANTA MUERTE
Making with the Sealhayne students
Artists Lisa Evans and Belinda Martin have been involved in creating the Santa Muerte of the Seven Powers in association with the Seale Hayne college students using recycled materials. The students have been involved in the different stages of making La Sante Muerte which included making their own wish.
La Santa Muerte is a sacred female figure honored in Mexico, regarded as very powerful and reputed to grant many favors. However, Santa Muerte can grant favors that no other saint can, such as cause a person to fall in love with you, damage property, or even harm or cause the death of someone, but only in the name of justice.
The image of La Santa Muerte is dressed in different colours robes depending on what is being requested. For instance it is not unknown for the image to be dressed as a bride (for those seeking a husband).There is a version of the figure dressed in a rainbow-colored robe. This is called the Santa Muerte of the Seven Powers. The colours of this robe are gold, silver, copper, blue, purple, red and green. Gold is for wealth, red for love and passion, purple for the changing of negative to positive, silver for luck and success, green for justice, copper for lifting negative spirits, and blue for spirituality.
During the Day of the Dead Ceremony the Santa Muerte can be used as a request for just about every shared human need. These can include prosperity, success in business, justice, protection from harm or attraction of a lover. We would like you to take the opportunity on the night to grant your own wish; to bring an object or belonging with you which symbolises your request and pin it to her dress.
