Tolu Vallenato by Griff
An invitation to share the mayhem
of Colombian caribbean town Tolu
in full holiday mode on a bicycle-taxi
with the local vallenato outfit,
'Union Vallenato'.
I'd been chatting to them earlier
so when they got hired to play
on a pedal taxi they invited me
aboard.
Below - Caught up in a Saturday afternoon Street
party these guys from the Banda Orquesta

SOUNDS AND COLOURS.
Sounds and Colours is a magazine about South American music and culture. You can refer to us as a Latin American music and culture magazine, however, we feel there is already plenty of information about the music and culture of Cuba, Puerto Rico and other regions in the Caribbean and South Pacific, and that is why we want to focus on South America, a region that has just as rich and varied a cultural heritage.
The idea of the magazine is to generate awareness of the diverse cultures of South America. After all, how many people know that the biggest selling style of music in Brazil is sertaneja (it sells more than samba) or about the African influences in Uruguayan and Colombian music or even what people actually listen to in Buenos Aires (there is more than just tango)?
